MUSIC ROUNDUP: February Releases 2018
February has been a month of announcements from festivals, tours and our very own SAMAs Paisley Takeover taking place 2nd & 3rd March! But let’s focus on a round up of our favourite releases this month!
Nightwave – Sanctuary
DJ and electronic producer, NIghtwave released a powerful EP at the beginning of February. An energetic EP that will have you tapping, head nodding and overall amazed at the quality of dance music on this release.
Domiciles – Common Language
The return of Domiciles came with a hypnotic and striking video that had us excited. We were treated to this video as the single is to be released on Feb 26th. If this is the track we hear first, we can’t wait for what is coming next!
Bloodlines – Blood In Your Arms
SAMAs winner for Best Rock/Alternative 2016 have just released their latest single and have shown why they took the award that night. Bloodlines have also announced a tour stopping in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Camden.
Lewis Capaldi – RUSH
2017 saw Lewis Capaldi catapult into the global eye with three incredible releases and now to add to them is the piano led, RUSH with a feature from Jessie Reyez. The 2017 SAMAs winner for Best Acoustic Act has not only released RUSH but has announced that he will be supporting Sam Smith on his tour.
Edwin Organ – Missing The T
A first listen on Vic Galloways Makeness Session, ‘Missing The T’ from Edwin Organ is all but electronic goodness! With an EP due to be released that we can’t wait to hear!
Solareye – Mr Margins
MC Dave Hook aka Solareye premiered the video for his latest track on The Skinny. With a highly anticipated EP due for release, the Scottish Hip Hop artist is catching our attention with his captivating lyricism.
Refuge Island – Above Board
Ayrshire band with an edgy punk rock sound release a massive energetic track with a “no nonsense big guitar sound”. Refuge Island play St Lukes on March 24th.
Aidan Moffat & RM Hubbert ft. Siobhan Wilson – Cockcrow
With a mesmerising video and capturing lyrics, ‘Cockcrow’ tells a wonderful story. Released on the label Rock Action, ‘Cockcrow’ is the first single from the album. Aidan Moffat & RM Hubbert will be touring in May 2018.
