IN PICTURES: 2019 Award Ceremony

Wow - what another excellent edition of Scottish Alternative Music Awards - the TENTH anniversary!

We like to take this moment to congratulate all the nominated artists, and the 7 winners, Zoe Graham, VanIves, The Vegan Leather, The Snuts, Ok Button, Inferiem, and Steg G.

Creative director, Richy Muirhead said: "This year’s SAMA’s were another huge celebration of Scottish music! It is fantastic to see the public get so involved and participate in the vote to determine the winners, we gathered over 12.5 thousand votes in two days this year which is a new record - it’s great to see so many people engaging with the nominations, streaming the music, and discovering other artists involved. The seven winners are all very exciting artists with exciting futures ahead."

Jamie Houston, Music officer for Creative Scotland: "The SAMAs is providing a really important platform to raise the profile of alternative artists, paving the way in genres such as hip hop, metal and electronic music. The winners of this year’s SAMAs are a fantastic reflection of the quality of alternative music talent here in Scotland, from upcoming acts such as The Vegan Leather to more established artists such as Steg G. We hope the SAMAs will encourage audiences to discover the wide range of artists nominated and explore Scotland’s thriving alternative music scene."

We also like to thank all our partners for this support, hosts, guest presenters, technical team, performing artists and everyone who voted (The public vote reached over 12.5K this year!).
